Take a look behind the scenes of the recent feature film Skincare to see how virtual production was used to shoot otherwise difficult car process sequences. Using an LED volume as the backdrop for the driving sequences, the team was able to create a controlled, realistic environment that freed the production from the usual challenges of shooting on a busy Hollywood Blvd.
In this BTS video, you’ll hear from Virtual Production Supervisor Kellen Malloy, who breaks down how his approach to the LED system allowed the team to keep things modular and simplified.
Also hear from DP Chris Ripley and Director Austin Peters about their experience on the LED stage.
Virtual production isn’t just about making things easier—it’s about opening up possibilities that traditional methods might not allow. If your story includes car scenes or environments where control and flexibility are key, this process could be pivotal. Check out the video to see how it all came together!
